2009 IFSA

The 2nd International Forum on the Sub-Antarctic (IFSA) will be titled Environmental Change in the Sub-Antarctic and will include a wide-range of international speakers.

Day 1 - the theme will be Overview of the Sub-Antarctic System (Biota and Physical World) with the morning session covering change in the Sub-Antarctic system during the recent past, circa 1800-mid 20th Century, and the afternoon will focus on change in the modern era of science and environmental consciousness.

Day 2 - the conference will explore dynamic interactions in the Sub-Antarctic system including atmosphere, water and land, and managing and adapting to environmental and ecological changes.

The final session will discuss what the future holds for the Sub-Antarctic and is titled A Mirror on the Future.

Venue

The forum will be held at the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) at 181 Macquarie Street Hobart. CCAMLR is situated within an easy 5-minute walk of the Hobart CBD and popular Salamanca precinct.
